Microsoft - A salute for 30 years

Microsoft has completed 30 years on 15th September 2005.
Bill Gates has always been one of the greatest sources of inspiration for me.
In fact, his book "Business @ the speed of thought" has changed my lookout at both IT and business.
Salute to the greatest businessman !

Nice quiz on Guardian !

Just came across a nice quiz on Guardian (UK ) newspaper site about current workstructure.
Have a look More than the quiz questions, summary at the end is more insightful

A nice summary for the results of my friend at Wipro :

You are interested in the power and prestige which corporate life can bring. Although money is important to you, the real driver in your life is your need to push onwards and upwards. You value success very highly and feel unfulfilled if your job is not constantly stretching and challenging your abilities. If you are not given the opportunity to develop and improve your skills, you may feel unmotivated and depressed. You have a strong need to be visible and to be appreciated, and a large organisation which requires your management skills and focused personality is the one most likely to bring you career happiness.

Aishwarya Rai - un nuovo incorporamento !

Aishwarya has definitely raised eyebrows of many people (including a fan like me !) by following 3 recent bold appearances.
1) Kajara Re - Bunty aur Bubly - a definitely more skin show that her earlier appearances
2) 2 piece bikini appearance in Dhoom II
3) Some hot smooches in Shabd and Kyun...

Of course, in year of 2005 I can't expect a bollywood actress to do a sati-savitri type of role.
However, I was having a bit different image of Ash, as compared to other contemporary actresses in the industry; more beautiful than sexy - more adorable than hot - more loveable than aphrodisiac - more cherubic than titilating - more angelic than erotic

These appearances have definitely caused a fuss in my mind.
Isn't there a difference between Worlds's # 9 most beautiful woman and an item girl ??

Katrina vs Mumbai ??

Like many of you must have received, I also rcvd following in a fwd mail ...

inches of rain in new orleans due to hurricane katrina... 18
inches of rain in mumbai (July 27th).... 37.1

population of new orleans... 484,674
population of mumbai.... 12,622,500

deaths in new orleans within 48 hours of katrina...100
deaths in mumbai within 48hours of rain.. 37.

number of people to be evacuated in new orleans... entire city..wohh
number of people evacuated in mumbai...10,000

Cases of shooting and violence in new orleans...Countless
Cases of shooting and violence in mumbai.. NONE

Time taken for US army to reach new orleans... 48hours
Time taken for Indian army and navy to reach mumbai...12hours

status 48hours later...new orleans is still waiting for relief, armyand electricty
status 48hours later..mumbai is back on its feet and is business is asusual

USA...world's most developed nation
India...JUST A DEVELOPING NATION..

I don't know how far this is factual, didn't even bother to find it out.
We all know hurricane is lot more than torrential rains that happened in Mumbai,

First of all whether these 2 events are comparable ?
If you see number of deaths in US due to Katrina
and the devastation in New Orleans, this comparison doesn't sound correct.
However, only good thing in India is there were no major cases of starting a loot in such natural calamities (except a few in 1994 Maharashtra earthquake ). Irony is US is being offered help from countries it doesn't have diplomatic relations with... in the name of humanity!

Also, if you analyze overall handling by FEMA esp. sacking piece, you can very well say that US has been a bit too busy in trying to take control over world instead its own people!

Salaam Namaste !

Hi,
We watched the movie on Saturday Salaam Namaste. Read some reviews in bbc, indiainfo, rediff , planet bollywood, mid-day and nowrunning.
Movie is good but needs a bit of editing (mainly cuts).
Priety Zinta has acted fabuously. Its bit difficult for a top actress to do the role of a pregnat woman, especially for about half-length of the movie.
Saif is also very promising especially in a comic scenes.
I really wonder why Abhishek Bachhan has accepted a role which could have done by Johny Liver variants.
Overall it could have been a good movie, had it cut the flab

No Entry - Hindi Movie

Yesterday I saw this movie 9-12 show. Its a wonderful, extremely comedy movie
Catch reviews here : bbc , Planet bollywood , imdb , Indiafm, rediff and even detailed indiainfo .
Its a mad-mad-mad comedy even though has a bit sleazy touch.
This reminded me of wonderful hindi movies in the past like Andaz apna apna, Hungama, Munnabhai MBBS and Mujhase Shaadi Karogi . Definitely worth a watch.
